This Is How You Do It! The Netflix Way
Welcome to the New Era of Digital Marketing,
IT'S TIME TO BURY THE TRADITIONAL MARKETING MODEL!!!
Many may not realise that the traditional way of marketing that were effective then, may not be effective in today's market. The harsh reality is that consumers are changing so rapidly, such that the marketing leaders are forced to keep up every now and then.
In today's context, marketing leaders are starting to adopt digital marketing channels like Email marketing, Social Media marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and many more.
Take Content Marketing for instance, is the heart of digital marketing that is irreplaceable despite the countless changes that occur in the market. It focuses on creating and sharing relevant, valuable and consistent content to attract potential customers. Statistics has shown that 73% of digital marketers are promoting more marketing activities this 2014.
When it comes to Content, there's a lot to learn from Netflix.

What is Netflix?
In case you haven't heard of Netflix already, it is an online streaming service that provides both the popular TV shows and movies over the Internet. As at 2018, Netflix attained more than 125 million streaming subscribers worldwide across 190 countries.
So why do people love Netflix?
What sets Netflix apart from other streaming services like (Amazon,HBO) is that they offer intuitive personalised homepage for users, and available across all devices. Moreover, each and every users' Netflix homepage is different which is designed to feature selected content based on users' preferences and needs.
Within a short 5 years span, the share of Netflix household subscriptions has increased over 92% and it is projected to improve every year. Netflix has proven that it can be done relatively easy with the help of digital marketing, to acquire new customers and retain the existing ones.
Here are the 3 big takeaways every marketer can learn from Netflix:
# 1 Know your Audience
The audience is always the central focus point of Netflix. Take for example: Netflix has created 7 different trailers for the new season of "House of Cards" - one of the popular shows, each focused on a different topic based on users' preferences so as to convince new users to try.
# 2 Use multi-channel campaigns to get the message out
Netflix is known to provide content that coincides with social media. In order to promote "Stranger Things" for the next season, Netflix teamed up with Snapchat to release augmented reality experience features. Concurrently, other social medial platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are involved too.
# 3 Embrace your inner brand voice
Unlike the others, Netflix, in particular, has successfully differentiated themselves by embracing public perception while maintaining their unique brand voice and identity. Netflix's famous catchphrase "Netflix and Chill", which was supposed to be a simple tagline, but has turned into something much more.

I agree! Its really important to know your audience and utilize an array of channels to get your message out. Brands can also analyze the different responses from the different channels used and re-target or focus on channels that garner more conversions!
